The Bruker rapifleX® MALDI TissueTyper® is the newest addition to the Mass Spectrometry Core. This instrument can be used to characterize a variety of small molecules and macromolecules up to 20X more quickly than traditional MALDI-TOF instruments. The Bruker rapifleX® can also better characterize samples that are difficult to analyze with traditional electrospray ionization methods. This instrument is equipped with an Epson Perfection V850 Pro scanner that allows for imaging of a variety of samples. The Bruker rapifleX® provides imaging acquisition rates of up to 40 pixels/second. This instrument allows for the characterization, analysis, and visualization of samples such as whole or sectioned tissue samples via Bruker’s powerful SCiLS™ Lab Solution software. This software provides in-depth statistical analysis and can illustrate biomolecule distribution from tissue samples.
