Description:
Vacuum concepts, equipment, and systems information will be presented to give the attendee an operational knowledge of modern vacuum technology. Equal emphasis will be placed on theoretical and practical instruction. Workshop time will be equally distributed between lecture and laboratory sessions. Lab sessions will consist of exercises to provide hands-on experience with and a working perspective of the vacuum techniques and systems principally used in industry, academia, and government laboratories.

Researchers, engineers, and technicians who require an understanding of modern vacuum systems
Major Topics:
- Vacuum uses.
- Properties of gases.
- Vacuum pumps (from rough to UHV).
- Pumpdown, sealing, cleaning etc.
- Measurement of vacuum levels.
- Leak detection.
- Residual gas analysis.
- Vacuum system design.
