About

The aim of the Adaptive Intelligent Materials and Systems (AIMS) Center is to research and exploit innovative and cutting - edge adaptive and intelligent technology for transdisciplinary applications. AIMS Center researchers have wide multidisciplinary research backgrounds in system health management and prognosis, multiscale modeling including molecular dynamics and continuum mechanics, material characterization and testing of composite, metallic, hybrid, and superalloy materials, intelligent design and multidisciplinary optimization, surface and interface mechanics, multifunctional materials and adaptive systems, bio - inspired materials and robotics, information management and signal processing, data fusion, data mining and informatics, and thermal energy applications. The AIMS Center laboratories offer a wide range of characterization, analysis, and thermal and mechanical testing equipment to inform and validate multiscale material models.
