All users must have an account on iLab in order to request services or schedule instruments and training. If you do not already have an account, go to the iLab home page and follow the instructions to create an account.

Required safety trainings

Once you have Career EDGE access, you will need to complete the following trainings before working in our labs.

To submit samples

We currently accept sample types ranging from tissue to prepared libraries for sequencing on either the Illumina MiSeq or NextSeq instruments. See specific run modules and library preparation workflow offered on iLab.

The turn-around time for any given project depends upon the exact services requested, but our average is three to four weeks.

To create an account on dnaLIMS

If you are new to our facility, contact us to have your PI added to the system. Send the information below to genomicshelp@asu.edu. Once your PI has been added you can then create your own personal login to dnaLIMS.

To create a sanger sequencing request
  1. Sign in to iLab using the button in the upper-right-hand corner of the screen.
  2. Go to the Genomics Facility page on iLab (under Arizona State University – Biosciences header).
  3. From the facility page, select the “Request Services” tab.
  4. Click the "Request services" button next to "Sanger Sequencing Request."
  5. Fill out the following form, select service type, and enter number of reactions then click "Add Selected Services" when complete.
  6. After completing the form, click on "Submit request to Core"
  7. Submit your order with your name and Service ID and print out your order form to attach to your samples for sequencing.

To create a NextGen sequencing request
  1. Sign in to iLab using the button in the upper-right-hand corner of the screen.
  2. Go to the Genomics Facility page on iLab (under Arizona State University – Biosciences header).
  3. From the facility page, select the “Request Services” tab.
  4. Click the "Request services" button next to "Illumina NGS Request."
  5. Fill out the following form, and click "Submit request to researcher" when complete.

To create a microbiome sequencing request
  1. Sign in to iLab using the button in the upper-right-hand corner of the screen.
  2. Go to the Genomics Facility page on iLab (under Arizona State University – Biosciences header).
  3. From the facility page, select the “Request Services” tab.
  4. Click the "Request services" button next to "Microbiome NGS Request."
  5. Fill out the following form, and click "Submit request to researcher" when complete.
