ICP: Thermo Scientific Neoma MC-ICP-MS

Description

The Neoma MC-ICP-MS is designed for high-precision isotope ratio analyses of much of the periodic table. The Neoma is a Nier-Johnson double focusing instrument with fixed-position axial Faraday and SEM detectors as well as 10 movable peripheral Faraday cups, that allow simultaneous multi-collection of ion beams to obtain high precision isotope ratio measurements. Our Neoma is configured with a variety of amplifiers including three 10^13 Ohm amplifiers for low intensity ion beams and an axial secondary electron multiplier detector for the lowest intensity analytes. The Neoma's excellent peak position stability allowed innovation of the XHR option for extra high mass resolution to resolve polyatomic interferences from the analytes of interest. Validated analytical techniques include radiogenic Sr and Pb isotope ratios, and mass dependent Ca, Cr, Fe, Ni, Cu, Zn, Rb, Sr, Mo, Cd, Re, Hg, and U. Other isotope systems can be developed upon request.
